Ingredients
- 1 cup sliced carrots
- 1 cup chopped turnips
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 3 pounds stew meat (beef, veal or lamb) cut in 1 inch cubes
- seasoned flour
- 3 tablespoons fat
- 1 cup whole tiny onions (or 1 medium onion, chopped)
- 4 cups cubed potatoes
- 1 bay leaves
- 2 tablespoons minced parsley (or 1 tablespoon dried)
- ½ teaspoons thyme
Directions
Roll cubed meat in seasoned flour. Heat oil in heavy pot, then brown the meat in the fat. Cover with boiling water and simmer 1 1⁄2 hours.
Add the remaining ingredients, then simmer 30 minutes. Salt and pepper to taste.
