Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1 1/8 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/3 – 1/2 cup cold water
Directions
Combine flour and salt. Cut shortening into dry ingredients until pea-sized crumbs form. Add water a little at a time until the right consistency (pliable and not falling apart).
Roll out on a floured surface. Bake single shell at 400° Fahrenheit for 8 minutes. Bake a double crust at 400° for 15 minutes. Then reduce heat to 350° and bake for 30 more minutes.
TIP: For best results handle as little as possible.
Makes a double crust.
